“People need artists to help make the world FUN!”

Whenever I find myself unsure and second guessing why should I pursue my art passion, I remind myself what my friend told me “People need artists to make the world FUN!” We need all kinds of different people in the world. Lawyers, bankers help us. Also we need artists to help make things interesting. When I see a beautiful set of dishes in the store my heart stops and smile, or when I view a painting that sparks inside of me warm and cozy feelings I feel so uplifted! The list goes on… I may not have all the skills or degrees in the world, yet what I can do is add in a “touch of FUN!” in my own style which is a work in progress, I’ll never have it all figured out. A little experiment here and there, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not work. That’s okay, I can simply try again. Maybe this reminds you too. Keep following your passions!💗

My Story - How I Got Started

Now a little over 4 years I began in the pandemic (March 2020), I needed something to help me change focus & not be bored! I started with baking. Then I found in my drawer as I was decluttering the house, a watercolor set that I had received as a gift ages ago, & never used. June 2020, I thought to help pass the time, I would 1 time a week practice painting (usually every Sunday mornings following a YouTube class). Also, a fun thing to do with my 5-year-old daughter at the time. (I found out she only last 5 or 10 minutes).

Before this, I had always wanted to find my creative passion. In Sept 2019, I tried pottery, but that studio closed. I had always taken drawing class, just never took time to practice.

The silver lining of the pandemic is for the first time I had the time to practice, no distractions. (Can’t go anywhere!). There is a lot of practice time needed to tighten the gap between beginner and master.

Also, I decided I would change my thinking and focus on what I can do now and trust over time it will get better.

Instead when life got challenging, I turned to my watercolor practice. Over time my once a week painting schedule, turned into 3 or 4 times a week.

I have a lot to learn, yet little by little, simply by me sticking to this consistent weekly painting schedule no matter how I feel, improvements happen - slow & steady!

Each flower I paint is like a puzzle for me, a challenge.

At times I feel like giving up, yet I’ve already gone this far so might as well keep going. - I’m in too deep to stop now!

I hope you enjoy my work and feel inspired to even at times when you have self-doubts “keep going anyways!”

It’s never to late to follow your dreams!

xoxo💗
