My Creative Journal April 2021 - For FUN! (As you may have noticed? ??) Each month as we discover the Monthly Birth Flower together, I’ll learn how to watercolor them (most for the very first time! Only been at this for 10 months). Also, a FUN discovery I found out I have my own personal flower meaning that I never paid attention to until now.

I decided to give myself this homework assignment to help me improve my watercolor skills & challenge me to stick to it!

Then, I’ll turn them into greeting cards to sell & share with the world! (A wonderful suggestion. Otherwise my practice pieces would just stay hidden at home collecting dust.)

Slow and steady! (how I naturally work.) And see where things go.

When I think of daisies I think of “flower power”, hippies, the 60s/70s, my childhood in California, making daisy chains in golden gate park with my friends in San Francisco, when life was simple & carefree!

Daisies take a lot of patience to paint! I didn’t know there’s a lot of fine lines, shadows and dots. I resisted at first, hurry up! Then I accepted it. (Just like life and this pandemic.)

I changed & simplified my focus to think of how this card might help brighten someone’s day, and I will learned how to paint the daisy a little bit better than before.

Also to keep with my tradition, I made a fun inspiring video for no reason than I like to ?? - I think daises match well with this song “Be sure to wear flowers in your hair when you’re going to San Francisco. You're gonna meet some gentle people there.”

Another month to explore, experiment, make mistakes, learn & improve.

Let’s change focus, have fun & create.
